The final summary of the dogs behavior during the different test situations is made by the testleader. It is of outmost importance that this person is very experienced in testing dogs. Part of the knowledge needed can be achived from books. Another part from classes. But the greatest part of the neccessary knowledge comes from years and years of working with dogs and assisting at tests.
There is no shortcut to this experience. The testleader must ask the dog many questions during the test. And he or she has to give the dog the opportunity to answer these questions in its own way.
A good and experienced testleader can change the course in the middle of a test in order to give an individual dog the chance to answer a question. The test leader must be humble, patient and flexible and hence a great lower of dogs.
