Rospigans Hund - The sledge
The dog and the handler stands relaxed at the end of a path. From a hide about 10 meters in front of them a sledge with a half paper silhuet of a man is pulled out with a line. The sledge is pulled very slowly towards the dog and handler, maybe stopped sometimes if the testleader decides so. A good dog places itself between the sledge and the handler, using its will to defend and its sharpness in order to stop the figure. Some dogs dont know if this monotonously moving object is threath or an invitation to play. They sometimes try with play first but then change to sharpness if they have any. Some dogs just pretend that the sledge is not there and look in another direction or start some displacement action. In addition to these situations the dogs are also tested for shot shyness in a standardized test.
